Angel Locsin Regrets Endorsing Senator Koko Pimentel In 2007 Election

Kapamilya actress and philanthropist Angel Locsin has asked for forgiveness after campaigning for Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III in the 2007 senatorial election.

As Senator Pimentel is in hot water over the controversial breach of quarantine protocol, Locsin admitted that she regretted her decision to back Senator Pimentel’s senatorial bid years ago.

She described her decision as a “mortal sin.”

“Yes. Super. Mortal sin. Patawarin nyo po ako bilang ex husband po sya ng pinsan ko,” she tweeted, when a netizen asked if she regretted campaigning for the senator.

Locsin was referring to beauty queen Jewel Lobaton.

When another fan asked Locsin to promise she wouldn’t repeat endorsing Senator Pimentel, the actress pointed out: “Naka-ilang eleksyon na rin naman pong hindi naulit.”

The senator drew criticism over his entry to the hospital’s delivery room complex on March 24 to accompany his pregnant wife, Kath.

The lawmaker had been a person under investigation (PUI) for possible infection of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19), which meant he should have been under self-quarantine under government guidelines.

Senator Pimentel confirmed testing positive for COVID-19 while inside Makati Medical Center.

The Makati Medical Center denounced Senator Pimentel’s “irresponsible and reckless action, which unduly exposed health workers to possible infection.”
